How I Produce a Short:

The following is my producing process for SooSoos, directed by Rodrigo (ARPI) Padron.

The first step is breaking down the scenes chronologically and putting them together for filming. This example shows how I time scenes to find an equal length of filming each day.

The next step is getting a daily schedule breakdown, an organized showing how how long each scene will take and what is needed for each.

The third step is budgeting the film. The major components are food, transportation for equipment, production design and location costs. For SooSoo, this is the breakdown of the costs and how we stayed under budget.

The one big responsibility as producer is dealing with the studio, in this case the DePaul production office. This is one of the documents I have to submit, the Cast and Crew list.

Finally, the day comes and we get to filming, attached is an example of a call sheet. (Credit to Macaela Salomon)
